What to buy a little one about to start nursery!

Recently I’ve blogged lots about our circumstances, especially those surrounding our eldest daughter.

However, whilst all this has been happening and all this time has been passing our other children have been busy growing up. I’ve said little about them of late but I intend to say a little more about them soon, starting today with ‘baby Ben’ as I call him.

Except he’s not so ‘baby’ anymore. Every day he’s growing more and more in to a little man. He is so eager to be like his older siblings, to assert himself and to prove himself every bit as able at EVERYTHING that he see’s them do. Some day’s it makes me a little sad that he’s in such a rush, other day’s I smile in wonder at how quickly he is learning.

It is hard at the moment, with his eldest sister so ill. There’s no family days out happening, no family dog walks and the freezing cold weather has meant reduced time playing in the garden :-(

At home Paige requires 24/7 nursing so life is still far from ideal. In the moment’s my daughter is resting though, and when I’m not required by her bedside I still try to find time for some fun with the other’s and of course lots of cuddles.

I am looking in to nursery for just 2 mornings a week for Ben soon. For his sake more than mine, so that he gets to socialize with his peers and get’s to be entertained in a different setting, he is very much a Mummy’s boy (and a Daddy’s boy) so he’s going to require the softly softly approach. I bought him his very own lunchbox the other day. I was looking for personalized valentine gifts on utterlypersonal (no secret that I’m a BIG fan of personalized gifts) and found a personalized lunch bag for Ben whilst I was there :-) . I love that it already has his name on, it mean’s I won’t be faffing around trying to attach a name for nursery, very handy and I’d not seen one before. I’d definitely recommend it, so thought I’d share. The site had great customer service too, very speedy.

It was a very apt gift for Ben, as not only does it have his name (so useful for letter recognition) but also has a boy playing football on it. He LOVES football, as soon as he could walk he was chasing a ball. His big brother is a goalie so is happy to help his little brother out when it comes to a kick around :-)

Today Ben and his sister Summer had an impromptu Teddy Bears picnic in the living room. Ben wanted his sandwiches in his new lunch bag, I think it could be sometime before the novelty wears of :-)

Then post picnic he had a kick around in the garden with his Daddy.

I managed to catch a few snapshots of him to share. He’s become rather tired of his Mummy trying to capture his every moment which sometimes results in his laughter turning to a scowl when he spots the camera, it doesn’t stop me trying though! :-)
