This months Center Parcs challenge was all about nature and involved making a checklist and taking your child out on a nature hunt/trail.
We have been mega busy this month with my eldest son leaving primary school and lots of things going on with him and my eldest daughter Paige.
Despite this we did manage to fit in a fun day at Granny’s and I took the youngest three on a nature trail. My 9 year old had the camera most of the time and took quite a few of the photo’s. We found lots of butterflies, but they proved very elusive to photograph, as did the birds, although I’m guessing having a rather loud 2 year old with us might have had something to do with that :-)
Among many other things we found were brambles, wild honeysuckle, walnuts (not ready yet of course), pear trees, lime trees, aphids, crickets, lots of bees, butterflies and we briefly spotted a woodpecker :-)
We printed of our nature trail hunt checklists from nature detectives website, they proved very useful in identifying leaves so we could identify a horse chestnut from a sycamore leaf
Nature trail done Granny had prepared us the loveliest lunch and then the children enjoyed playing in the gardens, a dip in the pool and a game of tennis. Unfortunately Paige wasn’t well enough to join us outside and her little sister was quite sad about this, hopefully she’ll have a few more good days sometime soon.
Below are some photo’s from the Nature Trail and our day :-) and to be in with a chance to win a short break to Center Parcs yourself then please take a look here.
